"Was booted from homeowners insurance 1 month after a successful roof replacement claim. State Farm states because I had 1 home claim where NO ACTION was taken 5 years prior to my recent roof replacement, their underwriters decided to cancel the policy. I found out via email roughly 2 weeks prior to my cancelation date. Received a letter with no detailed information the same week of cancellation… since then my auto policies also increased. Will be switching to Allstate this evening for a similar rate and filing an official, documented complaint with BBB. This might be standard practice for State Farm but that does not make it right…"

"Underwriting action is not uncommon in the insurance industry as a whole. Many factors can lead to difficult decisions about the current and future insurability of a particular risk. As you have indicated, these decisions are made at the company level and is not within the control at the local agency level. In the future, I would recommend you connect directly with State Farm or any insurer about these situations as that is the best course of action and who ultimately controls those decisions."

"I am leaving 4 stars ONLY because the people who work here are amazing. They are kind, wonderful and all around great people. The actual car insurance sucks. If you are a safe driver and your car breaks down but is not involved in an accident they cover absolutely nothing not even a rental so you can safely get your children to school. They say there is a discount at enterprise but without a claim (that they cannot make) there is no discount. So over $100 a month for nothing. I would shop around."
